As one of the newbies we wanted to find out a bit more about him, so we got him to answer a few questions:
What is your role at Allsop?
I am a Business Intelligence (BI) developer. It’s my job to take clients data and turn it into something that is visually appealing, easy to interpret and ultimately helps to support a business in making intelligent, informed decisions.
What made you pursue a career as a BI developer?
I have always had an interest in computers from a young age (mostly due to the amount of time I spent on my PlayStation) which led to me pursuing my degree in Software Development and Commercial Computing. Throughout my studies, I was working part-time and really enjoyed learning about how businesses worked and interacting with customers. I found the role of a BI developer to be a perfect balance between the technical element and business element that I wanted in a role.
What are your first impressions of working at Allsop?
I immediately felt the almost family-like atmosphere of the office when I walked in on my first day. There was a welcome note from everyone which was a nice touch and I also got to choose my own laptop. Little things like that helped me settle in quickly. As I expected everyone is really down to earth, genuine, professional and there is a nice calm vibe to the office.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I am big into cars and motorsport. This can range from watching F1/BTCC/WRC, to playing a racing game on my PlayStation, to washing my car. I also enjoy researching new recipes and cooking.
